Following up on September’s teaching about initiative, the K-5 classroom started a new weekly practice. During our worship time, we collect an offering, which we give as an act of worship.  For the month of October, our offering went to a special ministry at WARM, the Westerville Area Resource Ministry.  WARM sends kids from food insecure households in Westerville schools home with backpacks full of food for the weekend. Last month, our K-5 class explored what it means to see what needs to be done and do it.  Instead of being a simple directive or just another way of telling each other about the things we “should do” or “need to do” in order be better kids, friends, followers of Jesus, etc., we talked about “initiative” as a response to what God is doing in us and around us. Nearing the end of my first month at Quest, it seems important to formally draft a note of thanks.
